Teena Lee Duffey

Teena Duffey, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend passed away July 27, 2016 in Albuquerque after a long fight with Crohn's Disease and a short battle with cancer.

Teena was born February 11, 1948 in Tucumcari, NM to George E. Worsham and Bonnie Curry Worsham. She was a graduate of Tularosa NM High School and the University of New Mexico and taught at several APS schools, retiring from Hawthorne Elementary. Teena's passing has left a void in many lives, and we will miss her terribly. Her inner strength and toughness in dealing with medical adversity throughout her life was a source of inspiration and admiration to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Coach, Bill Duffey; mother, Bonnie "Nan" Worsham; daughter, Bonnie Mullane Smith and husband, Doug; son, James Burdge and wife, Heather; together with grandchildren, Grant and Jordan Smith and Aidan and Ivy Burdge, all of Albuquerque. Also aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends including her "husband and wife in law" Tim and Helen Mullane. Teena requested that no memorial service be held. Instead she asks that her family and friends get together at a later date for a happy and fun celebration of her life.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and staff of the Presbyterian Hospital 3rd floor Surgical Care Unit, the 5th floor Oncology Unit and the Anna Kaseman Hospice Unit together with the Infectious Disease Clinic and the NM Cancer Center for the excellent and kind care she received during her struggle. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Nicholas Vopacelli and Dr. Douglas Clark for all they did over many years to help Teena. Another very special thank you to our world of friends and relatives for being a force of strength, assistance and encouragement throughout this difficult and stressful time.
