Syria (Chavez) Burrola

Syria Burrola, age 96, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019.  She is survived by her husband, Dan M. Burrola; and four children, Lindell and spouse, Pete Chavez, Lydia Adams, Glen David and spouse, Stephanie Burrola, and Denise and spouse, Ralph Buchner. She was preceded in death by her son, Stanley “Rick” Valdez.  She was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great- grandchildren. She is survived by three siblings, Lucy Martinez, Clifton Chavez and Dolores Repik. She was born in Bosque, NM, resided in Gallup, NM and was swept off her feet by the drummer, Dan Burrola.  After being married, they relocated to Albuquerque, NM where they proceeded to build a full, prosperous, and rewarding life.

A Visitation will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 at 9:30 a.m., Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd Rio Rancho, NM. Interment will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe, NM. For immediate family only.
