Sylvia Hernandez

Sylvia Hernandez, 90, born January 3, 1925, was called to the Lord on December 31, 2015, while surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Mercedes, Paula, Angelina and Pete. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Brooks; nephews, Martin Hernandez, Phillip and Brian Brooks, Winton Allen Jr., Lawrence and Paul Schultz and nieces, Judy Simmons, Adrianne Herring, Jeannie Gonzales, and Marita Brooks, along with many other great nieces and nephews.
She entered this world in Bernalillo, NM, born to Epitacio and Martina Hernandez. Sylvia graduated from Albuquerque High School and began working at Kirtland Air Force Base until her retirement. Sylvia's greatest love was for all of her nieces and nephews, for each one held a special place in her heart.
Rosary will be recited Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Westside. Friends may begin visiting at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. The family requests donations to be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
