Suzanne Fate

Suzanne Fate, 72, beloved mother, daughter, mother-in-law, and Mimi, sadly passed away at her home on December 10, 2023. She is survived by her daughter Jessica Fate, son-in-law Liang Banh, granddaughter Lily Banh, grandson Ethan Banh; son Rick Fate; daughter Ashley Fate, son-in-law Mike Parrish. 

Suzanne dedicated her life to helping others as a mental health professional, working with youth during her more than 20 years with the State of New Mexico, as well as, continuing her work with children, adults, and families in the private sector after retirement. Her important work touched countless lives and leaves a legacy of kindness, hope, and healing. 

Her proudest titles were Mom and "Mimi." She loved spending time with her family, watching a good movie (especially with extra buttery popcorn), eating a delicious meal, and drinking a good cup of coffee. Suzanne loved caring for people and animals alike. She spread joy through homemade gifts and bringing thoughtful lovies to any house visit. She loved cultivating life: helping guide and counsel family members, growing plants, feeding her turtles and fish, helping heal her clients, and slipping any animal she could a treat under the table. Afterall, “nobody spanks Mimi.” 

Her legacy continues in each of us--in how we live our lives: finding the magic in the "little things." Life isn't about the big, grand events, but can be found each day. She lived a vibrant life-always seeking to help others and spreading joy. She made everyone around her feel special. Each time someone walked through the door, to Suzanne, they were the most important person in the room. She saw people–really connecting with them, deeply. Authentically. Lovingly. Unconditionally. 

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023; 4 PM at French Funerals and Cremations (7121 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109).
