July 15, 1936 — March 22, 2013

MILLOY, SUSAN FEDERER Age 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, passed away on March 22, 2013. She is survived by her husband, John, to whom she was married for 47 years. Susan was preceded in death by father, Leo J. Federer and mother Helen (Oscar) Federer. She was born in Madison, WI and moved with her family to Waukesha, WI at an early age. Her father was a prominent attorney whose firm was located in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha and Mount Mary College in Milwaukee. She was a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and was awarded a Master of Science degree in Biology. Susan taught biology at Rufus King High School in Milwaukee and at Highland High School in Albuquerque. She held the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Wisconsin Parkside Campus in Racine, WI. Her love of biological science led to her hobby of gardening and to a twenty year reforestation project at her property in Washburn, WI. The cabin in Washburn was always adorned with flowers of all kinds, a very productive vegetable garden, and trips to the local orchards to pick apples and berries. She was always surrounded by pets including goldfish, turtles, chipmunks, cats, and Rottweilers. Her love and concern for animals of all sizes made her an active patron of numerous animal humane associations and shelters. Her final resting place is in the Centennial Urn Garden at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque.
