Susan (Visser) Langham

March 15, 1942 — November 6, 2021

Susan Visser Langham, 79, a resident of Albuquerque passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021. Susan was born in Albuquerque on March 15, 1942 and lived in Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Reno, Nevada before returning home to Albuquerque in 2003. She graduated from James Monroe High School in North Hills, CA and attended cosmetology school in Los Angeles.

Susan's passions were politics, arts and crafts and dogs, especially her Labrador, Jenny. Every neighborhood dog came to Susan looking for treats and pats and always found them. If not careful, she would try to adopt them away from their owner.

The last years of her life were spent lovingly caring for her "second mother," Louise Stambaugh. She was an important part of the Moore/Stambaugh families and her many cousins felt she was more of a sibling to them than a cousin.

Susan was an "only child" who had six siblings; half siblings, Patti, Charlie, and Debbie; and step siblings, Bud, Jean, and Nancy.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ida Moore; her parents, Lou Visser and Helen Broderick; stepmother, Lorraine Visser and her beloved son, Steven who she tragically lost in 2011.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Dawn and husband, Josh and soon to be born great-grandchild of Sparks, NV.

Susan was a quiet woman with an incredible wit. She will be greatly missed.

There will be no immediate memorial service but there will be a celebration of life at a future date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Animal Humane New Mexico, https://animalhumanenm.org/
