Susan Kay Crim

Susan Kay (Riggs) Crim, 67, went to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon July 5, 2015 after a courageous journey with declining health that she faced with grace. Susan was born July 30, 1947, in Hamilton County, Indiana, and lovingly adopted by Herman "Gus" and Yula Riggs of Anderson, IN. Susan spent her early years in Anderson and then moved with her family to Kokomo, IN, where she graduated from Kokomo High School in 1965. After high school she graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN, and then went on to Ball State University for graduate work in Special Education. Susan had a gift for teaching and a love for children. She dedicated herself to teaching for over 35 years in many locations in the U.S. as well as in the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDDS) in England/ Germany, while her husband served with the U.S. Air Force. Upon moving back to the United States, Susan completed her career, teaching special education students at Monte Vista Elementary School in Albuquerque, NM. Following her medical retirement, Susan enjoyed sewing, craft projects, and traveling to visit her grandchildren. Susan was a loving wife, mother, and Grammie. She will be greatly missed by her family but they rejoice in the knowledge they will see her again in heaven. Susan is survived by her loving spouse, Colin Crim; her daughter, Allison Boehner (Will); step-son, Geoff Crim (Wendy); and seven grandchildren whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Nancy Ann Kling. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the heart transplant and cardiac care staffs at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Center, Aurora, CO, for the loving care they gave her. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - University.
