Steven Zamora

Steven Zamora, age 34, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of November 29, 2017. Steven was known for his outgoing personality, always making the people who were around him constantly laugh and smile. There was never a dull moment when he was around, he touched the life’s of everyone he came in contact with. He had a heart of gold. He will always be remembered for his love for sports, he played them all but there was no denying his passion for football. He was the star of his high school football team. Steven was the quarterback on the varsity team the whole 4 years he attended. He had pure talent and dedication on that football field. He was also known for his adventurous ways. Steven was the type of person to just pack up and move away for the challenge of starting all over, just so he could try something new. He visited a total of 18 states and 2 countries and felt like there was nothing left to do but buy a yacht and just enjoy it. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Zamora. He is also survived by his parents, Lawrence Gonzales, Renee Zamora Lopez, Zonia Gonzales, and Renee’s partner, Tania Mondragon; sisters, Brittany Gonzales, Amanda Juarez, Stephanie Mills; brother, Cody Castillo; nephews, Estevan Flores, Santos Flores; godson, Cruzito Parra; grandparents, Sylvia “Nana” Zamora and Ray and Albina Gonzales; sister-in-law, Iris Dominguez; mother-in-law, Dora Dominguez and father-in-law, Preslee Dominguez. He also leaves behind many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Mikey.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday December 14, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. with Rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. at FRENCH – University. A Mass will be Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW ABQ, NM 87105. Interment will follow the Mass at Mount Calvary cemetery in Albuquerque. Pallbearers include Lawrence Gonzales, Cody Castillo, David Archuleta, Paul Zamora Jr., Arturo Mondragon, Frankie Lopez, Tommy Lucero, Efren Garcia, Edward Salazar, Steven Dominguez, Ronald Perez, and Michael Benavidez.
