Steven Velarde

Steven Victor Velarde age 68, beloved husband, father, grandfather passed away on December 23, 2024. Steven was known for helping cousins and friends in need. Always took the time to help his family and friends. He loved creating memories with his grand kids. He was into artwork, he created a memorial Plack for his dad, cousin Susie and Auntie Flora. He enjoyed working on the computer creating art and Christian music. He also dedicated 32 years of service to the Albuquerque Public Schools working as a System Administrator. He is survived by his wife Frances Katherine, sister Valerie Veronica Velarde, son Daniel Ray Velarde and wife Amber Velarde, son Joel Leyba and wife Diamond Leyba, son Cory Leyba. grandkids Sariah Leyba and Leo Leyba. He also leaves many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Steven was preceded in death by his father Herman Ray Velarde and mother Irene Beatrice Juarez.

A Rosary will be held on January 28, 2025, 10:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am, located at St Thomas Aquinas Church, 1502 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
