Steve C. Bowling

1924 - 2013 Steve passed on to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2013. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bernadine (Milton) Bowling; four children, Lydia Sue Moorhead, Carl, Mel, and Mike Bowling; grandchildren, Eric Moorhead and wife, Naomi and Scott Moorhead and wife, Diamond; great-grandchildren, Danica, Trent, Anaiya, and Breileigh Moorhead; sister, Malvia Szczapinski and husband, Richard; brother, Sim P. Bowling and wife, Louise; and many favorite nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Martha French; and two brothers, Harding and Ray Bowling. Steve was born on July 10, 1924 to father, James P. Bowling and mother, Flora Langdon Bowling in Clay County, Kentucky. He began his adventures in life after he left the farm with the CCC's, then the Army and Air Force. Later he worked for the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy Department and the United States Postal Service. One of his goals was accomplished when he graduated from the University of Albuquerque at the age of 48. Then to complete his ambitions, he had a mini farm with many animals. His greatest loves were his family followed by his bees. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Chester T. French Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Hospital Albuquerque, www.albuquerque.va.gov .
