Sterling Raymond Grant, Jr, 71, passed away to meet his LORD and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 after a long illness. He passed peacefully at home with his wife Beth by his side.

Sterling was born to Sterling Raymond Grant, Sr and Norma Eugenia (White) Grant on May 17, 1948, in Roswell, NM. He grew up in Roswell and was part of the 1st Graduating class of Goddard High School in 1966. Sterling was very active with sports growing up, especially Little League Baseball.

Sterling moved to Albuquerque in 1969 and began working with KOAT Channel 7. He eventually became the Production / Advertising Director and had many enjoyable years with the company. Sterling joined Rick Johnson Advertising Company in 1979. During his time with them he received countless awards and honors. In 2002 he received one of the highest honors in the Albuquerque advertising industry, the Silver Medal Award, given to an outstanding individual in Advertising. Sterling was blessed to have worked with his son Sterling R Grant, III at RJC for 13 years producing and direct many films, documentaries and commercials. Sterling also owned Albuquerque Media Monitoring, and Prickly Pair Productions which he ran with his son.

Sterling enjoyed fun activities with his family. Including sports, camping, hunting, RVing, boating, watersports, traveling, and fishing, especially fly fishing. Sterling was also quite the handyman, capable of fixing and building a wide array of projects. Nothing was a challenge to him and it was always completed to perfection. He was an avid gardener producing vegetable through many summers, canning jelly from his concord grape vines, and peaches from his peach tree. Sterling was also a great cook. Sterling’s family has been long time members of Sandia Baptist Church and were very active with different ministries over the years.
