Stephen Michael Williams

Stephen Michael Williams, age 46, beloved father, brother, son and friend passed away at home peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2023.

He is survived by his loving children, Mateas Williams, Cyra Williams and Alexis Devore; mother, Paulette Gnadt; brother, Scott Williams and his family Melissa, Liam, Rory and Ellis.

Stephen was born at Edwards Air Force Base. He spent his childhood both on the base in California and here in Albuquerque. He graduated from Eldorado High School and received his bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico. Go Lobos!

He loved sports but above all he loved baseball. He pitched at the Little League World Series and went on to play high school and college baseball. It was through sports that he met some of his lifelong friends. They played baseball, softball and golf together. Annually, they kicked off March Madness with a trip to Las Vegas. Stephen looked forward to that trip every year.

Until his passing, Stephen held the title of County Director of the Income Support Division in Sandoval County. His commitment to the community was evident through his dedicated service.

Above all, Stephen loved his family. He adored Paulette, his "Mother of the Earth". He was so proud of the independent woman his Lexi has become. He exclaimed that Mateas got all of his "smarts" from him, and that Cyra was his whole heart and that she had him wrapped around her little finger.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, beginning at 4:30 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 5:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Lomas.
