HALL, STANLEY WELDONA long-time resident of Albuquerque, NM, age 84, beloved husband, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was embraced by the Lord and taken to his heavenly home Thursday, November 15, 2012. He never met a stranger and enjoyed his friendships tremendously. Stanley is survived by his spouse of 61 years, Carol J. Hall; children, Laura Hall Hintze and husband Steve of Sugar Land, TX; Stacie L. Ferguson and husband Barry of Placitas, NM; Kathryn E. Ashby and husband Alan of Cypress, TX; and Kenneth W. Hall of League City, TX; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie M. Kirkland and husband Jack of Gainesville, FL; cousins, Allen and Tad Crane; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Locksley Hall Sr. and Mirl Roberson Hall, and his brother, Locksley Hall Jr. Mr. Hall was born in Whitesboro, Texas on 11-11-28. He graduated from Texas Tech where he met and married Carol Shilcutt. He was in the oil service industry as a geophysicist his entire career, which took him to over 100 countries. Stan was a member emeritus of The Society of Exploration Geophysicists, and a member of Sandia Presbyterian Church. He and his family lived in France and Australia and later settled back in Texas. His passions always took him and his family to the water. Stan would pull his children and friends on water skis from dawn to dusk. As a result, for 48 years the family has been avid boaters. He retired in 1989 after successfully building his own geophysical firm. In retirement, Stan and Carol travelled extensively. They enjoyed countless days in their houseboat and on jet skis at Lake Powell, as well as many miles in their RV. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., N.E., Albuquerque, NM Monday, November 19, 2012 from 5-7pm. Services will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 11:00 am, at Sandia Presbyterian Church 10704 Paseo del Norte, Albuquerque, NM with David Casson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park for immediate family only. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
