Hinzman, Sonjia Sonjia Hinzman, 71, of Albuquerque, NM, and a member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, passed away on May 19, 2015 in Eau Claire, WI. She was surrounded in peace by family and clergy in her last waking moments. Sonjia was born in Albuquerque, NM to James and Edna Mae Laffoon in 1943. She attended Highland High School and graduated in 1961. She was a dedicated employee at Sears for 35 years and retired in 2010. She was actively involved with Albuquerque Civic Light Opera for many years and loved movies, traveling with family, and crocheting blankets for her many grandchildren. Friends and family continue to remember her as one of the kindest and most giving people they have ever known with the brightest of smiles. Sonjia is preceded in death by her mother and father. Sonjia is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Gross (SIL Bryan Gross) and Wendy Hinzman; brother, James Laffoon; and seven grandchildren, Mallory Gross, Emily Gross, Hayden Gross, Peyton Gross, Aspen Hinzman, MacKenzie Knight, and Aidan Knight. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to St. Stephens UMC, Calvary Baptist Church of Eau Claire and Mayo Medical Center of Eau Claire, WI along with French Funerals and Cremations, and Fuller, Speckien, and Hulke Mortuary for their support of Sonjia's spiritual and medical care both during life and after her passing. Visitation will be held at FRENCH - University on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University.
