January 30, 1924 to September 20, 2018
Simeon (Dick) Teisher, 94, beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather was called to his eternal resting place on September 20, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Jean Teisher and his siblings Robert Teisher & family of Del Mar, CA and Jean Ziegler of Cleveland, OH. He entered this world on January 30, 1924 in Cleveland, OH. He is survived by his five children; Jim Teisher (Jeanne); Susan Busch; Sally Machacek (Rob); John Teisher (Rita); and Margie Teisher (Jim). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Sean Teisher; Cameron Teisher; Joel Busch (Courtney); Isaac Busch (Liz); Sarah Wheeler; Rachel Busch; Lindsay Machacek; Matthew Machacek; Whitney Machacek; Jessica Wilke; Nicole Wilke; and Kelli Wilke. He is survived by seven great grandchildren: Hannah Teisher, Christopher Wheeler, Olivia Busch, Thomas Busch, Caleb Busch, Josephine Busch, and Kateri Busch. Family was important to Dick who always looked forward to family celebrations and holidays.
Dick grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, served in the Navy with an honorable discharge in 1946, attended Case Western and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Electromotive as a train engineer and trained engineers to run diesel locomotives. In 1955 he moved his family to Albuquerque, and began work at Sandia National Labs. Shortly after moving to Albuquerque he decided to build a log cabin in the Pecos Wilderness area. This was an ongoing project that went on for many years and involved family and friends. He traveled to many parts of the world, for both work and in his personal life. Kauai was a frequent vacation spot for Dick and Jean, and it became a second home for them, especially during retirement.
We will miss his dry sense of humor that could often be missed if you weren’t paying close attention.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE.
