Silviano Chacon

Silviano Chacon, 94, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, was called to his eternal resting place joining his ancestors on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. He entered this world on Saturday, March 5, 1927, in Canon Plaza, NM, born to Juan Bautista Chacon and Maria Francisquita Gurule Chacon. He is survived by his wife, Claudina Chacon; daughter, Sylvia Gomez; son, Claude Chacon; daughter, Elizabeth Chacon; son, Joseph Chacon; daughter, Anita Chacon; son, Michael Chacon; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Silviano attended the New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Alamogordo, NM, where he would meet his future wife of 72 years. Silviano enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping, and traveling. He touched many lives with his kindness and will be dearly missed but held closely in the hearts of those who will always love him. A Rosary will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021, 4:00 p.m., at FRENCH-University. Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, 9:00 a.m., at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St NW, followed by an Entombment Service at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE.
