Silvestre Castillo passed away the morning of December 12th, 2024, surrounded by family. Silvestre was the youngest of 11 children. He was born in Santa Rita, NM in 1932 and was raised in Jarales, NM. Silvestre moved with his wife, Theresa, and their six children to Albuquerque in the early 70's.
Silvestre was a home builder and general contractor in New Mexico. He also had many hobbies; he was an avid carver, carpenter, and fisherman. He loved telling old man jokes and being an uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
Silvestre was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; mother, Manuelita Castillo; and siblings, Ramon, Eloisa, Anita, Jose, Bonnie, Filimon, Luis, Tomas, Isabel, and Ignacio.
He leaves behind his six children, Jane Hackett, Martha Luna, Lori Close, Anthony Castillo, Elaine Golden, and Melissa Keeling. Silvestre had 14 grandchildren, Christopher, Eli, James, Jessica, Darci, Stacey, Ayden, Valarie, Victoria, Alicia, Elena, John, Ashley and Matt; and 15 great-grandchildren, Hazel, Avery, Natalie, Sophia, Max, Leo, Oliver, Makenzie, Dean, Cayden, Alexander, Travis, Joseph, Bridgette, and Savanna.
A Rosary will be held Wednesday, December 18th, 2024, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Lomas.
