Silverio Mike Gurule, age 86, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, also a well-known Bernalillo businessman, passed away January 12, 2016. Mike was known for owning the Triangle Inn (Tin Shed) Bar in Bernalillo. He was very well educated and also very knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics. His favorite saying was "dejalo" and "You know what I mean?" Mike was always willing to help others. He was a Korean War Veteran from 1951-1953. Mike was a former VFW member and Treasurer for Sandoval County in 1954 -1956. His hobbies included leather craft and woodwork.
Mike is survived by his wife, Rita Gurule; his children, Steve Gurule and fiancée, Edna, Matilda Gurule and husband, Randy Gonzales, Robert Gurule and wife, Georgette, and Ken Romero and wife, Arlene; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his three sisters, Mary, Nellie and Louisa; nieces; and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Everado and Anastacia Gurule; and his son, Anthony "Dondee" Gurule.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016, 5:00 p.m., at FRENCH-University. A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016, 9:30 a.m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later time.
