Shirley Lee Morris

Shirley L Morris, 88, beloved mother, was called to her eternal resting place on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. She entered this world on Saturday, April 18, 1931 in Kansas City, KS, born to Bertha Freeze Glenn and adopted by Francis and Flora Marsh as an infant. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Elisabeth Morris; and her husband of 66 years, William Roy Morris DDS.

She is survived by her son, Dr William R. Morris II; and daughter, SSG retired Jennifer L Morris; grandchildren, William R. Morris III, Gregory B. Morris and wife, Joanne Arenas Morris, Jennifer N. Morris, Heather Mai Thrower and husband, Fletcher Dougles Thrower, and Jamie Michelle Bou Abboud and her husband, Paul M. Bou Abboud; and nine great-grandchildren, William R. Morris IV, Kenneth A. Morris, Kai A. Morris, Juliana A. Morris, Elizabeth A. Morris, and Raiden Fletcher Thrower, Tyr Desmond Thrower, Arawn Robert Thrower, and Micheal Paul Bou Abboud.

Shirley worked as a cartographer for the US map service during the 1950's before she became a mother and moved to Albuquerque, NM with her husband and son. She became active as a member of the Albuquerque Garden Club and a member of the 99's a women's flying club from the 1960's to 1980's.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to her burial at 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
