Shirley A. Johnson

Shirley A. Johnson, 84, passed away on January 17, 2016. Shirley was born in Oklahoma and moved to New Mexico during her childhood. She attended and graduated from Albuquerque High School. During high school she met her husband Bobby J. They married after Bobby J returned from his service in the Navy, on July 22, 1949. Together Shirley and Bobby J purchased the Indian Motorcycle Shop in 1954 and grew the shop into Bobby J's Yamaha. They loved to travel and together have seen much of the world. They retired in 2001 and spent many happy times at their Elephant Butte home.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and brother. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bobby J; and her children, Stan (Resa) and Sandy (Clyde) Buckelew. She is also survived by her three grandsons; Keith (Jenn), Justin (Danielle) and Kevin (Seana); and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at FRENCH - University on Saturday January 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Shriner's Hospital, nmshriners.com.
