Sherwin Mellins

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Sherwin Mellins, M.D. announce the passing of their beloved husband and father on Monday, February 13, 2023.
In 1989, Sherwin, the Medical Director of the CT State Dept. of Mental Retardation, retired. Sherwin and Terri relocated to Albuquerque in 1992.
Sherwin was predeceased by his brother, Donald, USMC, KIA on Friday, September 15, 1944 on Peleliu, Palau Islands; and his parents, Bert and Elfreeda (Ginsberg) Mellins.
Sherwin is survived by his wife of 43 years, Theresa; his daughters, Sheryl Kenney and her husband, John of Israel; Susan Rivas and her husband Huve of CA; Sandra Mellins of Richmond, VA; and Cynthia Lutzen and her husband, Gary of MA.
Cremation has already taken place.
