Shelley A. Smith

Shelley A. Smith, age 64, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 in the Cardiac Critical Care unit, a caring and compassionate part of Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, of coronary artery ischemia, a common cardiovascular disease. Shelley was a native of Albuquerque, born at Presbyterian hospital on August 14, 1952. Shelley graduated from Highland High School with the class of 1970.
Shelley enjoyed collecting frog memorabilia, beading, looking for rocks, and loved little babies. One of Shelley's long term accomplishments (with the help of Bill W. and friends), was learning to live her life alcohol free (from August 31, 1990 until her death).
Shelley is preceded in death by her father, Walter G. Smith; brother, Michael P. Smith; and niece, Maria E. Mondragon. Shelley is survived by her son, Joseph and wife, Ciprianita Wilson; mother, Gloria M. Starzynski; sister, Susan G. Smith; brother, James W. Smith; companion and partner, Matthew Adair; three grandchildren, Trever, Severn and Cloe; nephew, Antonio Enrique Mondragon; and Joe Wilson, father of her son, Joseph.
A Memorial Reception will be held to celebrate Shelley's life on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming.
