Sheila Jean Murray-Wilensky, 68, was born In Stuart, Florida on Wednesday, October 6, 1954.
Her father was Jonathan Murray, and her mother Rachel Tennell. Sheila had three sisters, Cynthia Martin, Kim Murray, and Karen Murray. She lived in Florida till the age of 18. After graduating Wildwood high school in Stuart Florida, Sheila decided to move to NYC.
During her early years in NYC, Sheila had a career with AT&T, working as a coordinator programmer in their communications department. Sheila met her husband, Adam Wilensky, in 1989. After getting married in 1991, they would soon welcome two children, Eric and Jonathan Wilensky. After living in Manhattan, NY for several years, they would move to Staten Island, NY. Sheila and Adam both raised their children in Staten Island until they graduated college.
Through the years Sheila was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She lived gracefully with MS for almost 40 years. While she endured a lot of pain through her life, she always lived cheerfully with a smile on her face. Sheila always went out of her way to help others when she could. In March of 2021, Sheila and Adam would continue their journey in Albuquerque, NM to enjoy the fruits of retirement. While in Albuquerque, Sheila was able to spend more time with her son, Eric, who has lived in New Mexico since 2014. Sheila enjoyed spending time with her husband and her sons. Her favorite moments were when the family was fully together. Sheila passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
She is survived by her husband, Adam Wilensky; and sons Eric and Jonathan Wilensky, sisters; Cynthia Martin, Kim and Karen Murray.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 3, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Christian Heritage Church, 11104 Menaul Blvd NE.
Viewing at 10:00 a.m. before the service at 11:00 a.m. Another Service will be held Friday, March 10, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Willow Brook Park Baptist Church, 1780 Richmond Ave, Staten Island NY, 10314. There will be a viewing at 10:00 a.m. EST with the service starting at 11:00 a.m. EST.
