Sharron went home Friday, May 16, 2014 to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. She was born August 9, 1928 in Great Falls, Montana, the daughter of American pioneers. Her grandfather, General John Sevier was the first governor of Tennessee. John Walker Patrick of Boon Licks, Kentucky was her grandfather and a friend of Abraham Lincoln. Among Patrick's many exploits, he led wagon trains from Missouri to California, Oregon, and Montana and also many Scots-Irish and German pioneers to Montano. Sharron was preceded in death by her parents Maurice B. Smith and Anne H. Gerhart and her brothers George Smith and Francis Smith, all of Great Falls, Montana. She was a longtime resident of Albuquerque, moving here in 1952 from Missoula, Montana when her husband was hired by Sandia Corporation. She is survived by her four children, Gloria Gonzales, Patricia von Roemer, William Lawrence, and Stephen Lawrence; four grandchildren, Sharron Culligan and husband, Patrick, Sherryl Polack and husband Ken, Faith Starkweather and husband Sean, and Joshua Beck; two great-grandchildren, Michael Martinez and Alexis Starkweather. Burial will be on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Mountain Valley Cemetery, Edgewood, NM.
