Sharon Ann Walker passed away on March 20th, 2024 in Albuquerque New Mexico. She was 75 years old. Born in Denver, Colorado on May 14, 1948 and spending the majority of her life in Albuquerque New Mexico, Sharon led a remarkable life filled with great academic and career accomplishments along with cherished family memories.
Sharon's impressive educational journey which culminated in a Doctorate in Toxicology, and her passion for research, led to publications in prestigious academic journals. Sharon did medical research at Lovelace Respiratory Institute and was a visiting professor of biology at UNM. Sharon started working for Sandia National laboratory in 1984 as a board-certified Toxicologist doing Industrial Hygiene work. She later became a Nuclear Safety Basis Manager and Manager for Weapons Quality/Assessment. Sharon retired from Sandia roughly 25 years later and became a consultant at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Life with Sharon was always an adventure. She shared her love for the great outdoors with her children and grandchildren, creating enduring family bonds through their experiences. Sharon loved to fish, hike, camp, rock climb and ski, but most of all, Sharon loved horseback riding.
Sharon made a lasting impact on her community, especially on the youth, with her involvement in various activities and her willingness to offer guidance and support. Her kindness and generosity were evident to all who knew her, and her gracious demeanor touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her brother David Walker (Nancy Walker); three children; daughter Lindsey McGuire (JD McGuire); sons Lee Felicetti and Brad Felicetti (Erin Felicetti); and three Grandchildren, Jameson Felicetti, Reagan and Ava McGuire.
A celebration of Sharon's life will be held on April 6th at 11am at French Mortuary - 10500 Lomas Blvd NE in Albuquerque NM. The funeral service will honor her legacy and the positive influence she had on those around her. Following the service there will be a lunch reception to give condolences to her family at Los Altos Golf Course and Banquet Facility - 9717 Copper Ave NE Albuquerque, New Mexico 87123.
Sharon's memory will live on through the lives she touched, the knowledge she imparted, and the love she shared with her family and friends. May she rest in peace, forever cherished in our hearts.
