It is with heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of Severino Trujillo. Severino passed on December 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Mora, New Mexico to JD and Marie Trujillo. After retiring from the Army National Guard, he moved to Albuquerque and was a parishioner of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande for the past 14 years.
Severino leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Gina Trujillo; his loving children, Annette (Tom) Gilbert, Catherine Kane, David Trujillo and Arthur Trujillo; grandchildren, Nichol (Adam) Nichols, Kristen (Nathan) Del Curto, A.J. and Michael Trujillo, Eric Gilbert and Brandy and Breanna Trujillo; his great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Nichols and Jacob and Sophia Del Curto - all of Albuquerque; his brother, Arthur (Bonnie) Trujillo; sisters, Dolores Hagan, Dorothy Maestas and Evangeline (Jeff) Romero; his sisters-in-law, Helen (Alfonso) Padilla, Angelina Romero and Judy (Ernest) Ortiz as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Severino Steven Trujillo; his parents, JD and Marie Trujillo, and his in-laws, Eugenio and Eufelia Vigil.
A Rosary by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 8:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Drive, NW. Celebrant Monsignor Lambert Luna will officiate. Interment will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
Pallbearers will be David Trujillo, Arthur Trujillo, Arthur (AJ) Trujillo, Eric Gilbert, Michael Trujillo and Nathan Del Curto. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ron Armijo and all godchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Capital Campaign, www.sjrgparish.org, or to anyone in need.
