Sarah Katherine Shafer

Sarah Katherine Shafer, age 42, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Born in Albuquerque, she was the daughter of Amy Shafer and the late James W. Shafer.

She is survived by her mother; aunts, Pauline Reel of West Virginia, Reva Reel of El Paso, TX, Freeda Curtis of North Carolina, and Hilda Kaye Perry of California; uncles, Jack Shafer of Florida, and Don Shafer of Ohio; and numerous cousins.

She was baptized and confirmed at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church.

Previously, Sarah worked for Whole Foods in Houston and the U.S. Postal Service in Albuquerque. She attended a computer school in Houston and TVI in Albuquerque.

Sarah hiked the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia.

Services for Sarah will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH-Westside.
