Sandra Lee (Jones) Paas

Sandra Lee Jones was born March 15, 1935, in Gilmore City, Iowa. She was the oldest child of Charles and Dorthy Jones.

Sandy spent her childhood in Illinois. After high school she studied at CoCollege for two years then transferred to Northwestern College. She did her nursing training at Wesleyan Memorial Hospital. After college she worked at Chicago Memorial Hospital, the Children's Hospital in Chicago, and later the Children's Hospital in Denver for a total of 8 years.

She loved to ski and took many ski trips. In 1965, she decided to work a ski season in Aspen and worked for Glenn Paas. The two were married on the 19th of May 1966. Together they owned and operated 15 hotels throughout their marriage, all while raising three children together: Brooke, Brett, and Stacey.

After her children were grown, Sandy served her husband well during the last years of his life. She also served in many areas at her church, enjoyed games with her good friends, and thoroughly enjoyed her eight grandchildren.

Sandy leaves behind her brother, Charles Robert Jones, and sister-in-law, Janette Jones and their family of Flemington, New Jersey; daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and T. Payton; son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Brooke Paas; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Billy Brand; eight grandchildren: Jordan Payton, Noah Payton, Ainsley Paas, Andrew Payton, Carter Paas, Lily Brand, Preston Paas, and Esther Brand; three great-grandchildren: Charlee Payton, Calihan Payton, and Rose Payton; and niece and nephew Susan and Dale Paas and their families.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming with a Reception to follow.
