Sandra Blaney "Sandy" Norlander

Sandra "Sandy" Blaney Norlander, age 75, and a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on August 6, 2015. Sandy was born on February 5, 1940 to Thomas and Lucille Blaney in Bethany, OK. She was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Smith and brother, Richard Blaney. Sandy is survived by her husband of 59 years, John Norlander; her five children, Cyndy Johnston and husband, Ken of Scottsdale, AZ, Kenneth Norlander and wife, Vicki of Oconomowoc, WI, Jainey Norlander and husband, Curt of Gilbert, AZ, Paula Garrett of Albuquerque, NM and her husband, Dan of Houston, TX, and Robb Norlander of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Tosha Brock, Tiffany Trost, Stephany Martinez, Jeffrey Johnston, Kelly Norlander, and Grant Garrett as well as eight great-grandchildren and twelve nieces and nephews. Sandy was a beautiful, precious and loving wife and stay at home mother. Her greatest joys were her love of God and her family. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling and taking care of her rose and flower gardens. Sandy always started each day quoting her favorite bible scripture: "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24. During her life, Sandy endured numerous health issues including 15 years of kidney dialysis in her later years, but always had a positive attitude and uplifting spirit as she fought each illness with so much courage. God let us have her way past the expectancy, and she was grateful and honored Him. Sandy will be greatly missed by her family and those whose hearts she touched. The family would like to thank the North Albuquerque Dialysis Center for the many years of their wonderful care. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Montgomery Church of Christ, 7201 Montgomery Blvd. NE in Albuquerque.
