Samuel Kahan MD, 98, passed away November 15, 2017. He is survived by his daughter, Terri Kahan and Lawrence Benevidez; his granddaughters, Nicole Kahan and Danielle Kahan; and his daughter, Janice husband Wolfgang Siefert; and many other family and friends. Dr. Kahan was preceded in death by his parents, Hyman and Fannie Kahan; his wife, Dorothy; his daughter, Janice; and his siblings, Ben, Rose and Shirley. Samuel was born in Chicago, IL where he received his bachelor’s degree and his doctors degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He then served as a physician in the US Army overseas during the Korean War and was honorably discharged with the rank of Major. Dr. Kahan was a physician at the VA Hospital in Tucson, AZ and then moved to Albuquerque and served as a physician at Sandia Base where he and Dorothy made their home and raised their family. He loved life, was a good dancer, enjoyed travel and was a true gentleman. Services will be Monday, November 20, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at Congregation Albert, 3800 Louisiana Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110 with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the MS Society, 3540 Pan American Fwy # F, Albuquerque, NM 87107, Congregation Albert or Rosalind Franklin University, 3333 Green Bay Rd, North Chicago, IL 60064.
