Sammye L. Scharf

Sammye L. Scharf, born on November 3, 1931, in Waurika, Oklahoma, passed away on February 2, 2025. Sammye was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Scharf. She is survived by her two daughters; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

After arriving in Albuquerque in 1962, Sammye's passion was volunteering with Noon Day Ministries, crocheting blankets for the Linus Project, playing bridge with her friends and was an active member of Hoffmantown Church. Sammye had a deep love for rescue dogs. Known for her unwavering faith and fighting spirit, Sammye never complained and was known as "one tough cookie." She will be deeply missed.

A memorial celebration for Sammye will be held Friday, February 21, 2025, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH - University, with a reception immediately following.
