Sammie Rose Peach

Sammie Rose Peach went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2018 in Albuquerque, NM. She was 79.

Sammie was born on May 4, 1939 in Baxter, TN to Sam and Ina Askew. She married Glen Peach, a carpenter for the city of Detroit, on September 17, 1955 in Livonia, MI. She was a devout Christian, dedicated wife, and loving mother. She was an active lifelong member of the Baptist Church and displayed a deep love for Christ in all areas of her life. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also skilled in crochet, knitting and quilting. Sammie was wonderfully musical and enjoyed playing the piano, guitar and singing. She was a fantastic baker and her treats were beloved by family and friends. In the final years of Sammie’s life, her greatest joy was spending time with her great-grandchildren.

Sammie is survived by her husband, Glen Peach; her children, Glenda, Brian, and Cindy; her grandchildren, Samantha, Stephen, Sarah, and Tyler; her great-grandchildren, Clark Samuel, Jack Nolan, and Kathryn Rose; her siblings, Matilda, Etta, Richard and Andrea and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. She was pre-deceased by her granddaughter, Bridget Irene Peach, on May 16, 1984.

A private family viewing was held on August 8, 2018. She will be interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery on August 24, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Washington, in Washington Township, Michigan, with supper reception to immediately follow.
