Age 75, lost his courageous battle with lung disease on December 25, 2012. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Bella Candelaria; sons, Michael Candelaria of Albuquerque, John Candelaria and wife, Chey of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters, Virginia Madrid and husband, Joey and Lisa Pino of Castro Valley, CA. He had nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his brothers, Robert Romero of Mesa, Arizona and Jim Romero and wife, Noreen of Albuquerque; his sister, Mary Jane Owen and husband, Hal of Colorado. He had many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. He served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958. He was an electrician and member of Local Union 611 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Friends may visit Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with the Rosary immediately following at 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Mass will be celebrated Monday, December 31, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Parish, 1818 Coal Place SE. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE. Sam loved spending time with family and friends. He was a generous and kind person who will be greatly missed.
