Salvatore Maggio

Salvatore Maggio, 93, former owner of M. Maggio Cheese Co., passed away on July 14, 2017. He was born July 19, 1923 in Wildwood, NJ to Michael and Maria (Sole) Maggio. Salvatore was known for his warm and welcoming spirit. His kindness to family, friends, acquaintances and perfect strangers was known and appreciated by many. He was always dignified and gentle in his nature. He was a true gentleman to the end.
Salvatore was the beloved husband of 70 years to the late Grace Maggio and a loving father to his daughters, Maria Perklin (Dokse) and Angela Maggio Zabrocky and his son, Michael S. Maggio (Joann). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christopher Rainone (Allison), Anthony D’Amico, Rafe D’Amico, Catherine Creally (Justin), Andrew Perklin (Jessica) and Michael Perklin, and his great-grandchildren, Sean A. D’Amico, Grace D’Amico, Seraphina Rainone, Mirabelle Rainone, Mathew Creally, Daniel Creally, Nicholas Perklin, Sofia Perklin and Olivia Perklin. Salvatore is pre-deceased by his brothers, Mario and Peter; his sister, Precious Marino; brothers-in-law, Pasquale Altadonna and Peter Bavusa, and his sisters-in-law, Angelina (Guerriero) Bavusa and Stella Atladonna. He was loved and will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held jointly for Salvatore and his beloved wife Grace in Philadelphia in mid-September of this year. Details will follow online and in the newspaper.
