Salvador Oceguera

Salvador Oceguera, beloved father, brother, and friend to many, passed away on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023, at the age of 58. He was born on August 17th, 1964, in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Sal was predeceased by his parents, Eulalio and Reynalda; his brother, Alfredo; and sister, Rosa. He is survived by his two sons, Fernando and James; brother, Rogelio; and sisters, Gloria, Maria, Alicia, Francisca, and BlancaTeresa, and extended family and friends.

For 38 years, Sal worked as a dedicated employee at AeroParts Manufacturing & Repair as a Sheet Metal Mechanic. He had an excellent work ethic and took great pride in his trade.

In his free time, Sal enjoyed playing golf and watching his favorite sports teams- the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Las Vegas Raiders. As an avid music lover, Sal enjoyed listening to classic rock, funk, and cumbias, especially in the kitchen. He had a passion and talent for cooking, and his family and friends still rave about his delicious food, specifically Carne Asada Tacos, Birria, and Ceviche, and of course homemade Beef Jerky.

Sal brought a spark of joy to everyone he encountered, and his passing is deeply felt by all who knew him. Much like his food, Sal had a spicy personality. He never shied away from playful banter with friends. From the outside he may have had a tough exterior, but he truly had a heart of gold. He was the first to help those in need, and his loyalty to those close to him was unwavering. He led a simple but full life where he valued the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., FRENCH - Westside.

A Celebration of Life reception will be held after the services, beginning at 2:15 p.m., at Pongal Event Center located at 1101 Golf Course Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Food and drink will be provided, but feel free to bring something to share if you'd like.
