Sally (Jaramillo) Romero

Sally Romero, 93, beloved Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend went home to the Lord surrounded by her loving family on March 1, 2021. She entered this world on December 25, 1927 in Cuba, NM, born to Alfredo Jaramillo and Candelaria Salaz.

As a child, Sally came from a poor family who couldn't afford to care for her and she spent some years in foster care. Although only achieving a seventh-grade education, she secured a job with Digital Equipment Corporation and continued her career there until retirement. The meticulous work required for soldering electronic components to circuit boards was perfect work for her as this was her practice in all that she did, from cutting vegetables, to rolling out tortillas, to cleaning her house, everything was done with precision.

Not only did she work hard at her job but also at home. After work she would come home and continue the hard work, cooking for her children, and cleaning house. She is known to be a great cook, but most of all, is known by her selfless character. She sacrificed for her children and put their needs before her own. She would go without new clothes or anything extravagant so her children could have more. She had a big heart, in general, opening her home to anyone in need.

She is preceded in death by five sisters, Onofre, Mariana, Martina, Lena, and Ida; Two sons, Dennis Romero, and Rudy Romero; Grandson, Dennis Garcia; Daughter-in-law, Michelle Romero. She is survived by her five children, two son-in-laws, and three daughter-in-laws, Jose Romero and wife Laura, Dominica Martinez and husband Melvin, Lorraine McGartland and husband Bernie, George Romero, John Romero and wife Andrea, and daughter-in-law Nora; Fourteen Grandchildren, Sammy Garcia, Sonia Baldonado, Bernie McGartland, Timothy McGartland, Elesha Humphries, Renee Benedict, Guillermo Romero, Denise Romero, Ryan Romero, Kyla Romero, Elena Romero, Edward Romero, and Christiana Romero; Nineteen Great-grandchildren, Julian, Jade, Josie, DJ, Brandy, Isaiah, Josiah, Gianna, Demiana, Devin, Charlie, Brandon, AJ, Avia, Angelique, Nathan, Isabella, Leandra, and Elisa; Six great-great-grandchildren, Jessica, Elijah, Michaela, Neveah, Zoey, and Alex.

She will be missed by all and the love she gave so generously will not be forgotten.
