Ruth Smith

Ruth Smith, 90, of Albuquerque, passed away June 24, 2015. She was born in Cleveland, OH to Joseph and Genevieve (Geiger) Buettner on September 26, 1924. Ruth received a BA degree from Flora Stone Mather College and an MA in Education from Case Western Reserve University. She was the Associate Principal at Euclid High School, Euclid, OH. Ruth is survived by her children, Susan Tyler (Royall), Sally Pla, and Gregory Smith (Lisa); grandchildren, Evan and Grayson Smith; and sister, Jeanne Powers. She is preceded in death by her husband, George R. Smith; sister, Mildred Foley; and brother, Robert Buettner. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Inurnment will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Ruth to the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland, 2600 Lander Rd., Pepper Pike.
