Ruth M. Nicolet

Ruth M. Nicolet, 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. She was born on August 22, 1929 near McDonald Grove, OK, to Emmit and Martha Lewis. Ruth met and married Dwight E. Nicolet in 1949 where they made a home in Great Bend, KS for 58 years then moved to Rio Rancho, NM for the remaining years. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Shaw (husband, Wiley) of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Gary Nicolet (wife, Janine) of Emporia, KS and James Nicolet (wife, Maria) of Sterling, CO; brother, Lawrence Williamson (wife, Sandra) of Lincoln City, OR; granddaughters, Kimberly Knox (husband, Bo) and Marcie Nicolet; grandsons, Cory Nicolet, Brian E. Nicolet, Bryon J. Nicolet (wife, Bethany), and eight great-grandchildren. Ruth worked as a Medical Secretary at Central Kansas Medical Center until retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Great Bend, KS. She enjoyed her many card clubs, horse racing trips and traveling, but her greatest joy was her family. Cremation has taken place and a small memorial service will be held at a later date.
