Ruth died peacefully the morning of Friday, October 4th, 2019 surrounded by family and loved ones. Ruth is survived by her husband of 51 years, H. Ted Neas; children, Leah and Martin (wife Wendy); former daughter-in-law, Julieta Neas; grandchildren, Emiliano and Alexander; siblings, Miriam Staten, Barbara (husband Bob) Sellars, Beth (husband Marvin) Brown, John Bishop, Mary Salyers, Jeanne Thompson, and Gerald Bishop; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ruth was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She worked as a social worker and early childhood advocate with the states of Ohio and New Mexico, the Association for Retarded Citizens of Albuquerque, and Presbyterian Medical Services. She was a member of the National Association of Young Children and Pax Christi U.S.A. Ruth was known as a radical, out-spoken woman who was a fighter for social-justice, women’s rights, equality, and freedom. She was a believer in altruism, radical-acceptance, humanity, and the best possible outcome.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
