Ruth Shore Mondlick was born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 6,1931 and died on July 26, 2021.
Ruth's life blossomed in 1949 when she married Martin. They had a wonderful life together. She always prioritized quality time with her two sons, daughters in law, grandchildren, great granddaughters, great-great granddaughter, brothers, sisters in law and many nieces and nephews.
In 1964, the family moved to Albuquerque. She and Martin quickly fell in love with New Mexico. Albuquerque became their permanent home where she lived a wonderful and interesting life.
Ruth battled the effects of polio throughout her adult life, but never gave into the disease. She was tenacious, driven, optimistic, talented, and full of love.
Her professional accomplishments and interests were varied. While a UNM student intern, she taught English at Manzano High School. She later taught at the Sandia Preparatory School and enjoyed molding young minds of fifth and sixth grade students. Ruth further challenged herself by earning her PhD in Psychology from the University of New Mexico and culminated her professional life with a fulfilling career as a psychologist.
She loved travel, being with her family, teaching, mentoring and lived life to its fullest each day. She will be missed, but the memories of her extraordinary life remain.
A Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 2, 2021, 3:30 p.m. at La Vida Llena (face masks are required).
