Ruth Annetta Jones passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025. She was born on September 27, 1950, in Coalville, Utah. She is survived by her husband, Jim Jones of Rio Rancho; her grandchildren, Christian Barnes of Rio Rancho, Serenity Barnes and Patrick Barnes of Alamogordo, and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.
Ruth battled with Parkinson's disease for the last 20 years when she succumbed to the disease. During her life, Ruth was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She volunteered within the church and organization for many years. Ruth spent 38 years working for Presbyterian Hospitals in Albuquerque, NM. She was a major contributor in the building of Presbyterian Rust Medical Center.
During spare time, Ruth enjoyed baking for friends and family. She loved to spend time with her cats, in which she always had one. In retirement Ruth and Jim would travel and enjoy going to Colorado Rockies baseball games as well as Utah Jazz basketball.
A memorial service for Ruth will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints, 12701 Indian School Rd. NE (Indian School Chapel) Albuquerque, NM 87112.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you would consider donating to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research. Ruth donated to the organization regularly because of the research they have done in hopes of improving lives of those with Parkinson's disease.
