Ruth Eva (Harkness) Hosley

Ruth Eva (Harkness) Hosley, went to be with her Lord on March 26, 2016. She was born to George and Eva Harkness on February 9, 1926 at the family farm in Lawtons, NY. She graduated from the State University of NY at Fredonia and Eastern (now Palmer) Baptist Theological Seminary in Wynnewood, PA. She served on the staff of the First Baptist Church, North Adams, MA 1949-1956. Ruth married Richard B. Hosley January 20, 1951. They moved to Albuquerque in 1957. An active member of Albuquerque's First Baptist Church, she taught youth, drama and girls mission studies and also led grief support ministries.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Olney Harkness, Robert Harkness, Doris Reiser; her husband, Richard; and her beloved Shadow. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Nancy Luck of San Jose, CA; nephews, Gail W. Harkness and wife, Joyce of Ballston Lake, NY, David G. Hosley and wife, Chris of Walnut Creek, CA, Stephen E. Hosley and wife, Vivian of Vienna, VA and their families.

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016, 2:00 p.m., at Albuquerque's First Baptist Church, 4101 Paseo Del Norte NW. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Albuquerque's First Baptist Church Noon Day Ministries or International Mission Board, 4101 Paseo Del Norte NW, Albuquerque 87114.
