Ruth Ann Darnell (Ogle), age 84, has died. In the early morning hours of Tuesday, 22 March, 2022, her spirit broke the surly bonds of earth and embraced her LORD and SAVIOR, Jesus Christ.
She was born on September 12, 1937, in Tulare, California, to Everett Earl Ogle and Sally Ruth Ogle (Mitchell). When she was less than one year old, her father was killed. Three years later, her mother remarried, and Ruth was raised by her kind, loving "Daddy", Basil Green. She spent her formative years in the Rogue River Valley in Oregon.
Ruth married the love of her life, Carlton Darnell on 26 April 1955. From this joyous union came six children; Randy Carlton (Marisela, Dodie) of Chilton, Wisconsin; Valerie Ruth, of Phoenix, Arizona; David Wayne (Cinde) of Phoenix, Arizona; Jeffrey Kent (deceased) (Nancy) of Los Alamos, New Mexico; Lisa Renee (Ray) of Newport News, Virginia; and Farnad James, of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She had 6 children, 16 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepdad, a son, a grandson, and a great granddaughter.
Ruth was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the age of 17 and was engaged in Family Research for the better part of 60 years, working on 40 family lines. She was an exemplary hostess and cook. When she and Carlton became "empty nesters" they hosted many gatherings of empty nesters, with excellent meals and fun games. They also hosted their many widowed friends every Valentine's Day. She was a seamstress, poet, painter, and a writer of short stories. She loved to make wedding dresses for new brides. She was a role model to many young wives and mothers. Ruth was loved by all who got to know her.
