Ruth Marie Cowham

COWHAM, RUTH MARIE Her ship has sailed into the light of peace. Ruth M. Kelly Cowham passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the age of 89. Ruth was born in Boston, Mass, where she grew up attending Catholic schools in the Irish Catholic community. Ruth moved to Albuquerque with her husband, Joseph H. Cowham in the late 1950s where she raised her three children. She worked for Sandia National Laboratories for many years retiring along with her husband to enjoy life together. Ruth was a devout Catholic and had a big heart, always generous and giving and everyone was always welcomed in her home. Ruth is survived by her children, Robert S. Cowham, his daughter Kelly Cowham, Nancy E. Armijo, her husband, Dennis Armijo, their children, Michele York (husband, Adam), Daniella Armijo (fiancé, Justin Visokey), Dennis "DJ" Armijo; and grandchild Emma Grace York. Ruth is also survived by her sister, Eleanor R. Kelly; daughter-in-law, Kathi Cowham; grandson, Joseph H. Cowham, IV (children, Briana, Megan, Samantha); and many nieces and nephews, many who visited her often. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph H. Cowham, III; son, Joseph H. Cowham, IV; parents, Elizabeth and James B. Kelly; brothers, John Kelly and James Kelly; and sisters, Mary Brady and Gertrude Carr. The rosary will be recited on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 7:00 p.m., at FRENCH-Westside.
