Msgt. Russell W. Voisin ASAF (Ret.) passed away June 4, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM after fighting a chronic illness. Russ was born in Lansing, Michigan on May 5, 1934 to Willard Voisin and Helen Cotton Voisin. He graduated from J.W. Sexton High School in Lansing in 1952. Russell enlisted in the USAF in 1954 after marrying. His twenty year career was spent in many places throughout the US, Greenland, Hawaii, Colorado and Nevada. While serving in Air Operations in Hawaii he was a dispatcher for the Air Force Thunderbirds flying team. Russell also served during the Vietnam War. Russ was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers-in-law. Russ is survived by his wife and caregiver of 31 years, Ellen. He is also survived by the mother of his three children, Jeanette Voisin; daughter Darcel Bell (Bruce), son Mark Voisin, daughter Debra Halsey (Bill); grandson Adam Bell (Amy), grandson Connor Halsey; and great grandchildren Jazmine, Jeremiah and Colton Bell; as well as five nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Mariam Sawyer (Alan) of Lansing, Michigan; his brother-in-law Hugh Bedingfield of Ft. Worth, Texas; sister-in-law Pamela Littlepage of Shady Shores, Texas; niece Paige Swetman (Jerod); niece Lauren Bedingfield of Lubbock, Texas; two great-nephews from Adkins, Texas; sister-in-law Lou Anne Hampton of Albuquerque; and his loving dog Honey. There will be a viewing on Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH- Lomas. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Park with full military honors provided by the United States Air Force.
