Russell Ray "Rusty" Rutledge, Sr.

Russell Ray “Rusty” Rutledge Sr. passed in peace on March 6, 2018 after 81 full and happy years on this earth. He left behind Joy, his lifelong love of 64 years. Together they raised three sons, Rusty Jr., Kyle, and Bart; and countless grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rusty was a driving force in the early development of home building in the Albuquerque area who began his career in the late 50’s. During the course of his career he built thousands of homes in various locations in northeast Albuquerque. Everyone desired a Rutledge Home. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, who enjoyed these activities alongside his sons and friends. He was a well-respected man of integrity whose contract was his handshake.

Rusty was dearly loved and will be missed by many as he joins his son, Bart in heaven (who is likely arguing with him about how to rebuild the gates).

Services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018, 10:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow.
