Ruben "Boxer" Romero

ROMERO, RUBEN JOE "BOXER", JR.Age 42, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, April 22, 2013. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Stephanie R. Romero of Albuquerque, NM; children, Nicole, Ruben, Chantelle, Anita, Rocky, Martin Antonio, Sergio, Ermalinda, Billy, and Angel; four special grandkids, Carlos, Maliah, Analicia, and Anthony; mother, Debbie A. Grier; sister, Joanna Romero and husband, Michael Mirabal; brother, Christopher Romero; grandmother, Lola Torres; and many other relatives and friends. Boxer was preceded in death by his father, Ruben Joe Romero, Sr.; brother, baby boy Romero; grandfathers, Lefty Torres and Joe Romero; and grandmother, Lucy Romero. He was born in 1970 and was an amateur boxer, training with Johnny Tapia under Henry Anaya. Boxer was always there for others and was a hard worker. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and grandson and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013, 1:00 p.m., at New Beginnings Church, 3601 Montgomery Blvd NE, with Pastor Richard Mansfield officiating. Cremation will follow.
