Roy A. Davis, 78, of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017. He is survived by his sister, Diane O'Toole and husband, Leo of Edgewood; and nephew, Kevin O'Toole of Amarillo; as well as many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold L. and Evelyn Davis.
Roy served his country during Vietnam in the United States Air Force as an Electronics Warfare Officer on a B-52 bomber. Following his military service, he moved to Albuquerque where he served his community for over 20 years in the Albuquerque Police Department from which he retired as a Sergeant. Roy was a member of the Albuquerque Kiwanis Club as well as the Duke City Bridge Club where he enjoyed spending time with friends. He had a heart for animals and exhibited his care for them, by fostering cats and kittens for Animal Humane New Mexico and opened his home to many critters over the years.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fraternal Order of Police, Albuquerque Lodge #1, 4120 Cutler Ave. NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to Animal Humane New Mexico.
