Ross Jordan passed away Monday, October 9, 2023. He was 87 years old. Born Sunday, December 15, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ross attended duPont Manual High School in Louisville and maintained a close friendship with his classmates until the very end.
Ross joined the Air Force in October 1955. As a Draftsman and Design Technician, he rose through the ranks to Senior Master Sergeant and retired from active duty after 21 years. Ross continued to serve the country by working for the same Defense Department agency he had worked for in the Air Force for an additional 35 years, first as a consultant and later as a government employee.
Ross met Yvonne, the love of his life, while on his first Air Force assignment in England. They married in 1957 and summered in England for many years before Yvonne's passing in 2014. She had been his confidant and travelling partner. Ross credited her for much of his success.
Ross was a consummate modeler building slot cars, flying model airplanes and electronic appliances. His favorite hobby was his model trains; always repairing, operating or shopping for his perfect Lionel layout. He fueled his hobby with participation in the TCA and TTOS model train clubs where he found many friends with the same passion. Ross was also a member of the Browns Backers club and this fueled his love of the Cleveland Browns football team.
Ross was a generous, helpful, kind and loving father. He leaves behind two sons Wayne and Dale; daughter-in-law Sandy; granddaughter Lindsey and her husband Danny; and great-granddaughter Lilian Rose.
