Ross Alvin Cox

Ross A. Cox, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Monday May 10th, 2021, after reaching the age of 78 years old. He died peacefully in his home with his family by his side.

Ross was born on Thursday, October 8, 1942 in Harrison, AR. At the age of 18, Ross joined the air force and was stationed at Kirtland Airforce Base in Albuquerque, NM. This is where he met his wife, Joyce M. Wood, and shortly after meeting, they had their one and only son, Jimmey A. Cox.

After serving in the Air Force, he started his career as a plumber and quickly became an entrepreneur and ran several "small businesses". What Ross and his wife built became the family business.

After retiring, Ross and his wife enjoyed traveling, wood carving, spending time at the family cabin, and riding bicycles. Ross also enjoyed watching NASCAR, riding his Harley, and Ford trucks. But the biggest joy in his life was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was truly the best "Green" Papa.

He was a strong patriarch of his family and a believer in Christ. He was a loving father who always took care of his son and grandchildren. A man who did his best to show what a good Papa should be.

Ross is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Cox of Albuquerque, NM; mother-in-law, Velma L. Wood; son, Jimmey A. Cox and his wife, Cathy; grandchildren, Darla Cox, Jamie Cox, Krystal Wehrs and her husband, Drake Wehrs; great-grandchildren, Sophie Hernandez, Allyn Glasgow, Brooks and Trace Wehrs; and brother, Lee Cox. He is loved and will be missed by many.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, 9:00 a.m., at FRENCH-University. Internment to follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE.
